Food for Thought

"Children who are forced to eat acquire a loathing for food and children who are forced to learn acquire a loathing for knowledge" Bertrand Russell

Our Student Profile

Sahaj International School is located in a small village “Devrala”  in the  rural hinterlands of Rajasthan. The students range from a farmers daughter to son of an Army man, posted on Indian borders. We also get students from a tea shop vendor to an established farming equipment manufacturer. There is only one common linkage joining most of these children.

  • Almost 100% of these families do not use any form of  “English” at home,
  • More than 90% of parents do not know English
  • Upto 40% of parents have not even received any formal education

Almost all of them express complete inability to check their children’s performance at home after they return from School. Volunteers are the best form of teachers to provide this alternate education in Rural settings.
