Volunteering At School

At “Sahaj Schools” we believe that formal education can be greatly supplemented by environment / aspirational / activity based education.

Most of these alternate education parameters are fulfilled in urban environment through natural selection, parents devoting time with children, book stores with reading sections, digital media capturing educational programs.

However, in rural setting most parents are not very literate (specially in English Education) and the children have limited access to urban options. In such settings, volunteers with urban background can make a significant difference by providing this alternate education.

Volunteers can participate in range of activities

1. Improved Class room Education

2. Informal education / awareness classes for parents

3. Organize camps, picnics and fun lessons for children

4. Participate in launching of New Initiatives

In the process of teaching, you will find “Education Gaps” to be plugged to improve the quality of education in Rural India. We would love to get your feedback on the same.

Duration of the programs

• Once a week visit, with a minimum of 10 committed sessions
• A weeklong stint in Rural India – Take a rural tourism vacation and take part in a teaching experience. One of our patron companies is hosting such volunteer programs. Please click here for package details.
